Sherman Harold Rinta, 47, of Kettle River, died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born in 1963 in Sandstone, MN to Harold and Ethel Rinta. Sherman was raised on the family farm and attended Wright and Cromwell schools, graduating from Cromwell High School in 1981. He attended Pine Technical College.
Sherman was a mechanic, logger and construction worker. He lived in Denver where he worked for Stiles Construction and then moved back to the Cromwell area where he was employed by the City of Cromwell. He became disabled a number of years ago due to a work related injury.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. Sherman enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, E-bay, auction sales, gardening, hobby farming, hunting and driving around on his tractor, “Allis”.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Skye.
Sherman is survived by his son, Dustin Rinta of Apple Valley; two sisters, Sheila (Jim) Krebs of Apple Valley and Carmen (Keith) Marti of Cloquet; a grandson, Gramm Neumeyer of Cloquet; special friend, Janet Trudell of Kettle River; his best friend, Randy Miller of Cloquet; two nieces and one nephew; his faithful dog, Nikki and many friends and family.
Memorial Services were held on Friday, May 20, 2011 in Bethany Lutheran Church, Cromwell. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet, Minnesota.
